Program components offered by AFSSN through a multidisciplinary and school based approach include:
  • School based and outreach supports for educational attainment;
  • Developmentally appropriate, high quality childcare -
  • Trained staff, knowledgeable in the areas of parenting and child development;
  • Family planning services;
  • Prenatal and preventative health care; and
  • Case management, including the planning and coordination of multidisciplinary services.

In addition, with our partners, services and supports include:
  • Counseling and emotional support;
  • Parenting and life skills training;
  • Goal setting
  • Vocational / career counseling;
  • Budgeting guidance; and
  • Crisis intervention.


Through formal partnerships with agencies, AFSSN provides:
  • Academic credit for high school programming (partnership with the District School Board of Niagara);
  • Home visiting ( partnerships with Healthy Babies / Healthy Children and Brighter Futures );
  • Health services and supports ( partnerships with Niagara Regional Public Health Department and Healthy Babies / Healthy Children );
  • One-on-one and group counseling regarding healthy relationships and family violence (partnership with Design for a New Tomorrow ); and
  • Pre-employment and employability skills ( partnership with Career Training and Business Education Council ).

Through informal partnerships and referrals, AFSSN helps young parents connect with housing, mental health services, healthy sexuality counseling, food and material donations.
